All our movies and show are stored on a hard drive these days.

Anita taught me how to pirate three years ago and I still never got around to it. I still have he directions saved but I would guess they're dated now  oh no, I probably lost them with the new forum!!!

We have the oldest TV in the world so we have to burn everything to DVD. My students were straight out laughing at me the other day when I confessed that.

I wouldn't know how to burn something to DVD anymore. I used to do it all the time.

We don't have a smart TV either. At the moment our entire house is incapable of playing a DVD, unless on an old laptop that's missing a H key. I think AppleTV or some variation thereof is in the near future for us, or maybe I'll just get DH a new TV for his birthday/christmas, the question is though what do I do with the 9 year old (but still working fine) one?

That's half my problem - the other half is why replace something that actually works when I have so many other things I want!

We have a smart tv, but it's so slow and doesn't have all the apps available. I think Apple TV or similar would be better.

Can you get a hard drive/apple tv thing that has a DVD player too? I need all of those things I think.

I'm not 100% sure what Apple TV does, but an Xbox or play station pretty much do all those things. You can have all your TV apps, attach a USB and play DVDs/games. I'm sure it has features I don't know about!

I'm sure that's the reason we haven't updated from the TiVo = too many options!!

I don't know if any option does everything though. We still have a Topfield set top box for recording off free to air as well.
